“Pop-up” Bars are all the rage. How about a “Pop-up” Party?
Welcome to SurreaLounge!
Recently, for the River North Design District’s Fall Gallery Walk, Mia Rao Design created this lush, loungy vignette with the help of some of our favorite industry partners.
Featuring the art of Anna Pales via Gruen Galleries, the Transceramica solid surface showroom was the perfect backdrop to host this captivating stop on the art walk. A porcelain “petrified wood” wall perfectly framed Pales’ signature elongated trees. The organic styling of sculputural furniture pieces from ARMAZEM.design, provided the perfect perch to soak up the atmosphere. Mia Rao Design expertly hung greenery and lightling from the exposed beam ceiling creating a canopy grounded by a gorgeous looped wool rug from Atelier Lapchi.
The feeling.. a hidden party in the woods, under the stars, topped off with martinis and music!
Really, a surreal night to remember.
Thank you to all who joined us for fun, and beautiful art!
Everyone enjoys opening up the windows and letting the fresh, spring air inside. There is no better way to feel refreshed and blow away the dusty gray of a long winter than a warm breeze.
Why not take it a step further? Bring your home alive with the vibrant colors of spring. Simply adding a floral arrangement or a few potted plants is a quick way to refresh any room.
Spring green, vibrant pink and lilac, fresh oranges… pick the pallet that best suits your decor and your mood!
Rebirth, renew, refresh! Celebrate Spring!
During the fast pace of the holiday seaon, it is easy to lose sight of the traquility and beauty that surrounds us every day.
Take a breath as we enter the new year…
Allow the splendor of new fallen snow, a pine branch, and aged piece of wood to decorate your world. The crisp whites, blue grays, and deep greens of the season make every room feel alive and new again. Nostalgic items add warmth to any setting stirring fond memories of years passed.
In 2018, let’s step back to appreciate the comfort of home. Take a moment to celebrate life and all grace that it brings.
Happy New Year!
We love Thanksgiving! Everything about it is delicious.
The deep, rich hues of the season, have inspired us to create these gorgeous rooms to gather and feast!
Warm wood tones create cozy environments to reminisce with family and friends. Rich goldenrod and pumpkin hues help wet the appetite. Earthy greens remind us of the grace and bounty of nature.
Fill your soul with laughter and good food.
We can’t resist a good haunted house.
In the spirit of Halloween, we are lured into some wickedly, edgy rooms.
If you dare…black and white, the perfect backdrop.
A skull, a random bone, rivited metal, and black velvet intensify the vibe.
A few Mia Rao projects have fallen into the realm of the dark. Can you discern which ones?
After a long mid-west winter, forget spring fever, summer is on everyone’s mind!
Lazy, hazy days on Lake Michigan are great, but nothing outshines a tropical paradise.
Mia Rao Design provided a tropical oasis in this master bath, of a Chicago restaurateur.
Nothing like slipping into a soak, surrounded by deep sea hues and rich teak wood at the end of a stressful day…
